INSHAN Ishmael has died after a battle with bone cancer.

His son Zaakir Ishmael posted on Facebook at 11.35 am on Friday the news of his father’s passing.

He funeral was at Barakah Grounds, Endeavour, Chaguanas on Friday afternoon.

On August 10, there was a call for donation for A+ blood for Ishmael and by August 11, several donations were made.

In May, AZP News spoke with the popular Islamic talk show host who shared his desire to build a hospital for those in need. The hospital is almost complete at the Barakah Ground in Chaguanas.

He said then, “I thank God it is me and not them,” he said, admitting that his situation has brought his family closer to each other.

Ishmael told AZP News, “My goal is to do a hospital and to treat with cancer to see how we could make life more comfortable, putting back the care in healthcare.

“My family and I, together with members of the public, we are putting things in place to build a facility. It is not going to be 100 per cent free because it’s impossible but we will be able to offer free surgeries and be able to assist people with counselling and physiotherapy free and also be able to raise funds.”
