ATTORNEY Shankar Bidaisee, the current chair of the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT), is now the chairman of the First Citizens Holdings Limited.

He was appointed to the post on Wednesday by Minister of Finance Davendranath Tancoo along with the new members of the Board of Directors.

The ministry issued a media release with the names of the new appointees on Wednesday evening.

They are:

1.       Shankar Bidaisee, Chairman

2.       Professor Sterling Frost, Deputy Chairman

3.       Crystelle Smith, Director

4.       Prakash Dhanrajh, Director

5.       Sandy Roopchand, Director

6.       Jo-Anne Boodoosingh, Director

7.       Nichelle Granderson, Director

8.       Javan Lewis, Director

The new board was appointed following the early exit of Group Chief Executive Officer, Karen Darbasie.

The TT Stock Exchange, in a public notice on Wednesday, said Darbasie went on approved vacation on August 21 ahead of her pre-retirement leave and Group Deputy CEO Jason Julien, will act as Group CEO in Darbasie’s absence and assume the role upon her retirement.

The notice also stated that General Manager, Retail and Commercial Banking of FCB, Sana Ragbir, will act as Group Deputy CEO, Business Generation.

Neela Moonilal Kissoon will continue in her substantive role as Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Operations and Administration, the TT Stock Exchange board said.
