MINISTER of Justice Devesh Maharaj visited the Police Complaints Authority (PCA) on Thursday.
He, along with the ministry’s permanent secretary Trudy Lewis met with PCA Director David West and Deputy Director Michelle Solomon-Baksh at the PCA’s head office at the International Waterfront Complex, Port of Spain.
Discussions were held pertaining to the PCA’s mandate, operational priorities and the Authority’s ongoing commitment to improving police accountability and safeguarding the rights of citizens, a release from the PCA stated.
The PCA stated it was encouraged by the visit and welcomed the continued engagement and support of the Ministry of Justice as it seeks to advance its work in promoting accountability, transparency, and public trust in the police service.
