SOCIAL workers and consultants will be conducting sessions at the Santa Rosa Government Primary School where a man allegedly attempted to solicit sex acts from school children.
They will attempt to help persons cope with trauma sustained during the incident that reportedly occured on June 2.
And the security measures are being reviewed not just at that school but at other schools as well.

This is according to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar as she answered the first and only question to date, asked to her as prime minister in the 13th Parliament on Wednesday.
Member of Parliament for Arima Pennelope Beckles asked, “In light of reports that an unauthorised adult male allegedly gained access to the compound of the Santa Rosa Government Primary School on June 2, 2025 and was involved in the sexual assault of multiple children, will the Prime Minister inform the country on measures to improve security in schools?”
In her response, Persad-Bissessar also said more information will be provided as the government prepared to debate the Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2025) Bill, 2025.

She said, “The Minister of Education will provide policy initiatives by this government to deal with the issue of security at our nation’s schools.”
At the beginning of her response Persad-Bissessar  knocked Beckles saying she was happy that Beckles “found her voice to talk about children.”
She said while Beckles sat as part of a Cabinet of the previous administration for five years, she was not aware of Beckles raising any issues regarding children and security.

Persad-Bissessar said her government moved rapidly to ensure a substantive Commissioner of Police was appointed.
She referred to CoP Allister Guevarro first speech as CoP made on Tuesday evening.
“The Commissioner is very much on spot about how we can help deal with security in schools, violence in our schools. This has been plaguing the system for many many years.”

The House of Representatives was reminded of a campaign initiative to have police officers placed in certain schools.
Former education minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly attempted to ask a supplemental question with the initial question being, “Is the prime minister satisfied that a response time of two weeks taken to deal with children who were sexually assaulted and traumatised by an unknown male assailant is a reasonable time frame for the Ministry of Education to respond in a government that protects children?”
The question and variations of it was not allowed by House Speaker Jagdeo Singh.
