OF all the prime ministers’ photos displayed at the atrium of the Piarco International Airport, one photo has no date or name.
That photo is of Stuart Young, the shortest-serving prime minister in Trinidad and Tobago’s history.

AZP News visited the airport recently.
Displayed on the balcony of the airport are the pictures of all the former prime ministers, accompanied by the dates of the years which they served with the exception of Young’s.

Included in the photos is that of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar who served from 2010 to 2015 and again retained the position in 2025. She is the current prime minister.

The photos are that of: Dr Eric Williams who served from 1962 – 1981, George Chambers (1981 – 1986), ANR Robinson, SC, (1986 – 1991), Basdeo Panday (1995 – 2001), Patrick Manning (2001 – 2010 and 1991 – 1995), Kamla Persad-Bissessar (2010 – 2015 and 2025), Dr Keith Rowley, (2015 – 2025) and then Young.

Young was appointed as prime minister on March 17 following the resignation of Dr Rowley and was not elected by the population of Trinidad and Tobago.
He served a term of 46 days before Persad-Bissessar was sworn-in as prime minister on May 1, after winning the April 28 general elections.
Young served a shorter term than former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss who served 49 days from September 2022 to October of that year.

This planned error justified his insignificant contribution to TT as its Prime Minister
