Barrington replaced Ambassador Anthony Phillips-Spencer in March. Phillips-Spencer had joined the elite intelligence unit last year following the dismissal of Major Roger Best in May, 2024.
Phillips-Spencer, the Trinidad and Tobago Ambassador to the US since 2016 returned to Trinidad  to review and audit all SSA personnel, equipment and processes after Best was suspended.
