UNITED National Congress (UNC) political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s husband Dr Gregory Bissessar is nursing whiplash after being involved in a vehicular accident.
Dr Bissessar hurt his neck and was not able to make it to a political meeting in Barrackpore with Persad-Bissessar on Thursday night.

Speaking at a United National Congress (UNC) campaign meeting in the Moruga/Tableland constituency, Persad-Bissessar sent love and best wishes to her husband who is at many times standing quietly by her side.
She said the gifts of love were remembered and cherished and announced that her husband was not at the Moruga meeting with her.
Persad-Bissessar also confessed she did not tell him, she would speak about him at the meeting held at Vickar’s carpark in Barrackpore.
“I have tremendous love and support or my husband, for my family” Persad-Bissessar said, a statement accompanied by much cheering.
She said, “And he couldn’t be here tonight. You recalled, we were going to Grande and a car rammed into the side of our car and he got something they called whiplash. So he said, ‘Kamla , I am there in love and support but I don’t want to walk because I can’t lift the head totally upright.’”
Persad-Bissessar sent out a message to him, “So Greg , get well soon. We love you very much and thank you for all the support you have given to me throughout the years. The gift of love.”
