2 Prisoners Escape from St Ann’s Hospital: 1 In Custody for Murder

TWO prisoners being kept at St Ann’s Hospital have escaped.

Police are seeking the public’s urgent assistance in locating the men who escaped on Wednesday morning according to a police report.

Police stated that around 5.30 am on Wednesday while conducting daily routine checks, security personnel discovered that two detainees were missing from a ward at the facility, and the incident was subsequently reported to the police.

One of the escapees has been identified as Everson Hazelwood, 40 who is in custody for murder.

Hazelwood is approximately five feet, four inches tall, stocky build, brown complexion, mixed descent and was last seen wearing a white jersey and blue three-quarter jeans.

The other escapee Joshua Garraway, 33 is in custody with robbery for violence.

He is  approximately five feet, 11 inches tall, slim build, dark brown complexion and of African descent.

Garraway was last seen wearing a green plaid shirt and blue jeans.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) urges anyone with information on the whereabouts of the individuals to contact 999, 555, or the nearest police station immediately.

Members of the public can also share anonymous tips via Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

On Wednesday evening, the police stated that the matter is currently under investigation by officers of the Belmont Police Station, and efforts are underway to locate the escapees.

The TTPS also reminded the public that harbouring or assisting an escaped prisoner is a criminal offence.
