Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley announced that the PNM parliamentary caucus has endorsed Stuart Young to lead the party.
This revelation came during a media briefing in Tobago following the PNM’s parliamentary retreat on Monday.
With this endorsement, Stuart Young is positioned to become the next Prime Minister upon Dr Rowley’s resignation, marking a new chapter in the party’s leadership.
Dr Rowley expressed confidence in Young’s capabilities to steer the party forward.
The prime minitser said he would step down before his term ends and spend more time with his family. General elections in Trinidad and Tobago are constitutionally due this year.
