THERE will be no by-election in the constituency of D’Abadie/O’Meara with the passing of its representative Lisa Morris-Julian.
Morris-Julian who perished in a fire with her two children on Monday was also the Minister in the Ministry of Education.
According to Professor Hamid Ghany, “The constitution prohibits the holding of by elections in the fifth year of the life of a Parliament. The fifth year of the current Parliament commenced on 28th August 2024.”
