POLICE officers shot and killed one suspect, wounded another, and apprehended a third after an attempted robbery of a water delivery truck on Aranguez Main Road on Monday afternoon.
Reports indicate that delivery men from a Blue Waters truck parked near a plant shop just before 1 pm and were about to get food at the popular Darling’s food outlet across the street when two men jumped into the truck, attempting to rob them.
The commotion alerted members of the Inter-Agency Task Force patrolling nearby. One officer saw the suspects running south along Aranguez Main Road past Mangra Street. The officer fired at the suspects while a marked police vehicle pursued them.
A silver AD wagon pulled up as the suspects were fleeing, and they got inside. The vehicle drove two streets down to Rambhaju Street East and stopped beside an unoccupied building. In hot pursuit, police fatally shot one of the suspects who was armed.
The other two suspects fled; one was wounded but later captured, along with the third man.
