THE Trinidad and Tobago Government says that the United States remains a critical partner and looks forward to productive relations.
This in a congratulatory message to President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday.
Trump won the presidency following Tuesday’s election and the 45th President of the US will also become the nation’s 47th when he is sworn in on January 20, next year.
Trump defeated US Vice President Kamala Harris.
In a statement, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Dr Amery Browne said:
“The United States of America remains a most critical partner for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
“We congratulate President Trump on his victory and look forward to excellent and productive relations with him and his team in 2025 and beyond.
“The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs is prepared and fully capable of doing everything that is required for the advancement of our relationship with the new US Administration, always with the best interests of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Community at heart.”
