THE Environmental Management Authority (EMA) has announces the launch of a new digital portal aimed at transforming its application process.
Partnering with the Trinidad and Tobago International Financial Centre (TTIFC) and the Emerging Services and Innovation (ES&I) Division, the EMA seeks to modernise its systems by introducing online payment options and automating the submission process for Certificate of Environmental Clearance (CEC) applications.
Set to go live on October 1, 2024, the new CEC Customer Portal will replace the traditional paper-based application, marking a major step forward in the EMA’s digital transformation efforts. This initiative aligns with the EMA’s Strategic Plan (2022 – 2026) and the 2018 National Environmental Policy, underscoring a commitment to improving the ease of doing business in Trinidad and Tobago.
The portal promises a more efficient and user-friendly experience, offering a step-by-step guide to assist applicants. Key benefits include enhanced accessibility and faster processing times, reflecting the EMA’s dedication to environmental stewardship and service improvement.
