POLICE have destroyed more than 1,300 marijuana tress and 22 kilogrammes of dried weed.
A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on Friday stated that Officers of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) conducted a cannabis eradication exercise on Thursday in the Toco District.
This exercise was supported by officers of the Coastal and Air Support Unit, supervised by Insp Ronnie Rampallard, SIU Training Team and other specialist sections within the TTPS.
The team discovered and destroyed 1,350 fully grown cannabis trees, 22.7 kilos of dried cannabis and one drying rack, located in a camp on 0.051 hectares of land.
The total street value for the destroyed narcotics is $1,577,000.
