TRINIDAD and Tobago is under an adverse weather alert – Yellow Level – until 8 pm on Wednesday.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) a low level moisture and convergence will continue to affect Tobago with varying intensities and will spread across varying localities over Trinidad during the next few hours.
This alert was issued just before 1 pm on Wednesday.
The TTMS stated, “Moderate to heavy showers can lead to street, flash flooding and localised ponding in some areas.
“Gusty winds and choppy seas can be expected in the vicinity of heavy downpours. There is the continued likelihood of landslides and toppling trees in areas so prone.”
The Met Office is advising people to secure items that may be affected by flood waters and do not venture into flood waters.
