ALL schools in Trinidad and Tobago will be closed on Monday
A release from the Ministry of Education on Sunday stated this decision was taken as a safety precaution since Trinidad was upgraded to an Orange Level Tropical Storm Watch.
The ministry said, “Unless further advisory from the Ministry of Education is issued, schools will reopen on Tuesday, July 2, except where clean- up operations in schools may be necessary.”
In such cases, parents will be advised directly through the school’s Principal.
Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly Farley Augustine declared a state of emergency on Sunday as the effects of category four Hurricane Beryl is expected early Monday.
He said, “All schools both public and private are closed tomorrow (Monday) and they will remain closed until further notice.”
