MAYARO Member of Parliament Rushton Paray and US Ambassador Candace Bond discuss strategies to combat narco-trafficking and other crimes in the southeastern peninsula of Trinidad.
The discussions took place during a meeting between the two at Paray’s constituency office in Mayaro on Monday.
It was the first official visit of a US Ambassador to the Mayaro/Rio Claro area.
The meeting addressed critical energy and security issues as well as strategies to combat and eliminate the challenges of narco-trafficking and human trafficking.
The discussions also focused on fostering enhanced collaboration between the United States and Mayaro, aiming to strengthen ties and address common concerns.
In addition to the talks, Bond engaged with local authorities at the Mayaro/Rio Claro Regional Corporation and committed to working closely with local leaders to address shared challenges and promote mutual understanding.
Bond also participated in a special tree planting ceremony at Rio Claro East Secondary School.
Paray said that the engagement paved the way for a brighter and more secure future for Mayaro.
