South Western Division officers arrested and charged one man with Possession of Firearm for the Purpose of Trafficking yesterday, following anti-crime exercises in the Erin area.
Around 7am on Wednesday, while conducting an Operation Blue Line exercise, a team of officers acted on information and proceeded to an Arena Village, Erin residence, executed a search warrant for firearms and ammunition.
During the search, the officers found two shotguns in a kennel located at the back of the house. A 25-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Penal Police Station, where he was charged with Possession of Firearm for the Purpose of Trafficking.
The team comprised of officers of the South Western Division Gang Intelligence Unit, South Western Division Task Force, K9 Unit, along with officers from Penal, Santa Flora and Erin Police Stations.
WPC Timothy of the Gang Intelligence Unit is continuing enquiries. Meanwhile, in the Central Division, around 3.30 pm Thursday, Central Division officers proceeded to a premises located at John Street Mano Drive, Enterprise, where they executed a search warrant for firearms and ammunition.
While conducting a search of a mini mart located on the premises, the officers found a transparent plastic bag containing 20 ecstasy pills.
One man was arrested and he was taken to the Central Division Task Force Area Base, where he was charged with Possession of Ecstasy for the Purpose of Trafficking.
