OVER 11, 000 teachers are expected to receive their back pay by Tuesday.
The Ministry of Education advises that 11,540 (90%) active, eligible teachers across Trinidad and Tobago will receive their backpay along with their December 2023 salaries.
A media release from the ministry on Monday stated that payments for the remaining 10 per cent of active teachers will continue to be processed and was estimated to be completed by December 31.
Payments for retired teachers will be processed subsequently, the ministry added.
The ministry has established an email address; backpayqueries@moe.gov.tt to receive and respond to queries on teachers’ backpay emoluments.
The Ministry of Education also took the opportunity to wish all stakeholders and the public a safe, happy and holy Christmas season.
