THE Ramai Trace Hindu School in Debe is expected to be completed this month.
This was revealed by Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
She was responding to a question from Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal in whose constituency the school is located.
Gadsby-Dolly said, “The expected date for the completion of works at the Ramai Trace Hindu School is November 2023, as provided by our project managers, the National Maintenance Training and Security Company Limited. A snagging exercise was conducted on October 18th, 2023, to ensure that works are completed to the expected standard. The date for the formal opening will be advised subsequently. “
Dr Moonilal enquired if the it will be opened as a gift before Divali which will be celebrated on November 12, but Gadsby-Dolly said it will be opened this month, she did not specify a date.
The original Ramai Trace Hindu School building was demolished a few years ago. Construction of the new school began in 2015. Students are being housed at a temple some 45 minutes away.
