THE Hot Spell alert for Trinidad and Tobgoa has been discontinued.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) downgraded the Hot Spell Alert from Yellow (monitor conditions) to Green (take no action) on Monday.
It stated, “As Trinidad and Tobago approaches the end of the heat season, the likelihood of extended periods of extremely high daily temperatures has significantly decreased.
“This is due to anticipated cloudy and/or rainy conditions associated with wet weather meteorological features over the coming days. The daily temperatures are forecast to be warm as usual for the rest of October.”
The TTMS had issued this latest Hot Spell alert on October 3 stating it would have lasted until the end of the month.
This was the second alert it had issued, the first being September 15 that was discontinued seven days later.
