CHOOSE your men wisely.

Member of Parliament for D’Abadie/O’Meara Lisa Morris-Julian told this to Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar on Wednesday night.

Speaking at a People’s National Movement (PNM) political meeting at the Arima Government Primary School Morris-Julian burst out into rhyme.

She started her speech by saying, “Yellow, yellow, Kamla likes strange bedfellows, Blue, blue, only Kamla loves you, Red, red, PNM till ah dead!”

Morris-Julian ended by saying, “To the Opposition Leader, the permanent Opposition Leader of Trinidad and Tobago… now this advice is not from Nelson Mandela. This advice is from a very handsome man and some of you know him very well. Dr Dr, not so long ago, my prime minister and your prime minister and the leader of the People’s National Movement, Dr the Honourable Keith Christopher Rowley gave us some very good advice.

She continued, “And I would like to share it with Kamla tonight. Kamla, choose your men wisely.”

The MP statements come in the wake of once estranged former FIFA vice president and UNC MP Jack Warner returning to the political stage on Monday.

Morris-Julian said, she wanted to say it in Spanish “so the human trafficker on the UNC side could understand,” but stuck to English and instead ended with the PNM slogan, “Great is the PNM and we shall always prevail.”

Dr Rowley was advertised to speak at the meeting in Arima but was notably absent.

The speakers were mainly women from the PNM with Member of Parliament for Arima Pennelope Beckles giving the last speech.

She mentioned that Dr Rowley was listening to the meeting.

The main topic for the speakers was the issue of Local Government Reform and why it should be voted for on August 14.

The PNM also took the opportunity to introduce to supporters, the PNM candidates for the Arima Borough Corporation.
