GEARING up for the CARIFTA games this weekend, the Trinidad and Tobago team is travelling with support from bMobile.
The games are being held in The Bahamas. Trinidad and Tobago’s track and field contingent is made up of 63 athletes and 17 officials.
Bmobile in a press release on Wednesday stated that roaming support to key members of the CARIFTA management team was provided.
Additionally, bMobile outfitted the squad with handy memorabilia to help make their stay more comfortable along with necessary travel accessories.
Upon their return home, bMobile will also present the top male and female athletes with new smartphones and mobile and data connectivity for six months.
CARIFTA Games team manager Jehue Gordon, a former national athlete, thanked bMobilefor the support.
He said, “Bmobile has always been giving back and supporting sport for as long as I can remember. For this initiative, I think it is always great for us to stay connected with each other. Communication is a very important part of dealing with such a large team.”
Gordon added, “I myself have been a beneficiary of bMobile’s sponsorship over the years and I also won a free trip to the Olympic Games in 2008 thanks to Bmobile.”
He said that T&T will be looking to improve on their 23-medal haul (two gold, 11 silver and ten bronze) at last year’s CARIFTA games.
