NATIONAL and regional security issues were among the issues discussed between Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Dr Amery Browne and US Ambassador Candace Bond during a meeting on Monday.
At the meeting, discussions covered a range of ongoing bilateral issues including national and regional security challenges, the impact of hemispheric migration on recipient countries, trafficking in persons and administrative matters, a release from the ministry stated.
The release stated that both Dr Browne and Bond committed to open dialogue with each other on the challenges faced by Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean region and gave consideration to including other stakeholders with a view to finding sustainable solutions.
The meeting ended cordially with both the Minister and the Ambassador committing to regular follow-up meetings on the issues discussed.
