WEST INDIES failed to take advantage of the situation when they bowled out South Africa for 116 in their second innings.
The Caribbean side lost the first Test in Centurion on Thursday despite a valiant 79 from Jermaine Blackwood.
The chief destroyer was Kagiso Rabada who got six West Indies scalps for 50 runs and ensured a South African victory inside three days.
Earlier in the day, Kemar Roach became West Indies’ fifth-highest wicket-taker with his 11th five for , and first away from home since 2017, as he passed Joel “Big Bird” Garner’s tally of 259 wickets.
South Africa opener Aiden Markram top-scored in their second innings with 47.

West Indies fell short by 87 runs having come into the series after a successful tour of Zimbabwe.
Player of the Match was Markram for his century in the first innings and 47 in the second.
