AN investigation has been launched into allegations of human trafficking allegedly by persons in public life.
Commissioner of Police, Erla Christopher has ordered the investigation, a media release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on Wednesday evening stated.
The release stated that following a meeting with the Director of the Counter Trafficking Unit, Christopher appointed a special team of officers to investigate the matter.
She said, “These allegations of human trafficking are serious, and will not be taken lightly”.
The Commissioner is giving the assurance that the matter will be vigorously pursued and thoroughly investigated, the TTPS states.
