SOCA superstar Machel Montano and the organisers of the Machel40 One Show concert have apologised to frustrated and angry patrons.
JayUpScale, Monk Music and Montano issued an apology on Carnival Sunday after many took to their social media accounts to vent their frustration while attending the show that was heavily advertised and endorsed by line sponsor Caribbean Airlines.
The organisers stated in a release, “We would like to sincerely apologise for the late start and the challenges to get through the gates on Carnival Friday! We know that you expect the highest standards from us and this fell short of what we have been doing over the years.”
The release also stated that there were challenges getting the Hasely Crawford stadium designed for sports, ready for a concert of that magnitude and it was the only venue that could have accommodated those numbers.
“The stadium contractors, the sporting fraternity and all of the show service providers tried to deliver our best while being very cognizant of protecting the property and patrons, but did not deliver on time despite our greatest efforts,” the organisers stated.
They also thanked SportTT for accomodating them.
