A FIRE at his home has taken the life of a three-year-old boy.
Kimani Brathwaite died in a fire at his Morvant home on Monday evening.
Reports are that the child was in a room on the first floor of the house located along Petunia Avenue, off Coconut Drive when the fire broke out.
He was at the time with an older relative.
Residents attempted to form a bucket brigade to contain the fire but was unsuccessful.
Fire officers from the San Juan Fire Station were on the scene within minutes and were able to contain the blaze but they were unable to save the boy.
Braithwaite is the third child to have died from adverse circumstances this month.
On Sunday, another three-year-old boy Nazim Owen was killed by the gun in Diego Martin.
On October 15, Jamal Modeste, nine was shot in Enterprise and died while being treated at the Chaguanas District Health Facility.
