THE search continues for 44-year-old Teresa Lynch who was swept away by raging flood waters on Wednesday.
According to police reports, Lynch and her brother William Ramlogan from Lopinot were attempting to cross a ravine at Surrey Village, Lopinot around 1 pm to escape the floodwaters but she slipped and fell into the water.
Ramlogan, 45, tried to rescue his sister but was thrown against rocks because of the strong current.
A search and rescue mission was immediately launched by Lopinot residents for Lynch. The authorities were informed and members of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service Search and Rescue team, the Hunters Search and Rescue team, Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and villagers were on Wednesday night continuing the search.
Ramlogan was warded at the hospital on Wednesday night.
Other persons were reportedly swept away by flood waters but were rescued.
