QUEEN ELIZABETH II is under medical supervision at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace on Thursday.
Newly-appointed UK Prime Minister Liz Truss in a tweet stated: “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.
“My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”
Buckingham Palace statement noted that doctors were concerned for her health after a further evaluation this morning
It stated that the 96-year-old monarch “remains comfortable”.
Prince Charles, Camilla and Princess Anne are at Balmoral while Prince William is said to be travelling there. Media reports also indicated that Prince Harry and Meghan were making their way to Scotland. They are expected to be joined by Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
There has been a deterioration of the Queen’s health over the past few months which has caused her to give up a number of public engagements.
