POLICE seize cocaine, an assortment of ammunition and camouflage during an exercise in Malicl and El Socorro between Friday night and Saturday morning.
A release by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated that the North-Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF) conducted an anti-crime exercise including a comprehensive search at 6th Avenue Malick.
Officers unearth an assortment of ammunition a pair of camouflage pants and a jacket hidden in a bushy parcel of land. The items were seized and taken to the station, the release stated.
It stated that during the same exercise at another location, officers searched a man of Brathwaite Lane, El Socorro, who was standing along Second Street, San Juan.
The search allegedly revealed 19 small packets of cocaine in the man’s shoulder pouch, the release said.
The man and the substance were taken to the San Juan Police Station where he is expected to be charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Investigations are ongoing into the discoveries in Malick.
