Three men were each sentenced to 12 months’ hard labour, after they appeared before a Couva Magistrate on Tuesday charged with larceny of cables belonging to the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT).
The sentences dealt with two separate incidents.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 12 months’ hard labour. He was caught cutting cables at Dow Village in California around 6 am on July 24, 2022.
In the second matter, Anderson Bedeau, 33, a welder and Keshawn Simmons, 19, both of Couva also pleaded guilty to stealing TSTT cables and were each sentenced to 12 months’ hard labour.

Editor’s note: The headline in this story was corrected to state that the three men received sentences of 12 months’ each and not years as was initially stated. The error is regretted.
