NEWS presenter and editor at Guardian Media Limited Khamal Georges is leaving the company.
In a statement on Friday, CNC3 stated that Georges, lead editor, newsgathering and presenter of the 7 PM News, will be stepping down from his post effective, June 17, 2022.
It stated, “Khamal has been an integral part of our team, serving in various roles throughout his 13-year tenure. While Khamal’s on-air accomplishments are well known it is his work off-camera that was most inspiring to us at GML.
“As Khamal departs GML, we join with our viewers to wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.
“He will always be a member of the Guardian Media family.”

And in an interview on CNC3 on Friday, CWU General Secretary Clyde Elder claimed that Georges was hired to work with Amplia Communication Limited a company owned by TSTT – a state-owned business undergoing a restructuring exercise and has fired hundreds of workers in the past months.
The company stated that Georges joined CNC3 in 2009 as a reporter and progressive to several positions including producer, presenter and finally lead editor-newsgathering since 2018.
His coverage included the impact of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti in 2016 and the funeral of Nelson Mandela in 2013.
In statement on Facebook, Georges said, “I am announcing my departure from the CNC3 news and Guardian Media Ltd. This company has been my home and family for more than thirteen years, and I owe it a debt of gratitude for the experiences, growth, and development in my career.
“There have been many highlights along this incredible journey; I have had the opportunity to work with the best in the industry, made lifelong friends, and more importantly, created lasting interactions with so many of you. This was not an easy decision, but I have decided to take my career in another direction and challenge myself in a new role that I hope will continue my professional development and advancement.
“Thank you for letting me into your homes, for your trust and your support as you watched me grow from the night I first anchored on September 9th, 2013 to now, and to everyone who has made this journey one to remember.”
