A SAN JUAN man is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Monday charged with the March 26 murder of Neil Churchill Thomas.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) in a release on Monday stated that Junior Toussaint, 26, of Bagatelle Extension, was charged with the offence following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, SC, on Friday.
Reports are that Thomas, 67, of Belmont, was found with stab wounds to the body at the corner of Charlotte and Duke Streets, Port of Spain, on March 26.
He was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. A male suspect was held in connection with the incident shortly after by officers of the Port of Spain Division.
Investigations were supervised by Insp Lynch, Jones and Mongroo, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region One, with the assistance of officers of the Port-of-Spain Division Task Force. Toussaint was charged with the offence by PC Smith, also of HBI Region One.
