THERE will be traffic disruptions along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway from today until next week Thursday.
A release from the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) stated the disruption will be along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway between Maloney and Piarco Intersection (Westbound).
This is to facilitate road rehabilitation works from 9 am to 5.30 pm from March 15 to 24, the release stated.
Motorists are to proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and barriers; comply with instructions from police officers on-site to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic; be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the site; drive with caution on all milled (possibly uneven) surfaces at a reduced speed on approaching the work zone.
In addition, commuters will also face temporary traffic disruptions due to Slope Stabilization Works along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway 41.5km Mark, Tarouba Overpass (northbound ramp).
The ministry stated that works will begin on Wednesday (March 16) and is expected to end on April 12 from 9 am to 3 pm.
In addition, dual lanes of the highway will remain open, however, access to the shoulder and single-lane section of the ramp will be restricted during the period of work.
Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and observe all traffic signs; comply with instructions from police officers or flag persons on-site, to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic; be aware of equipment in the work zone and entering/exiting the site, and drive at a reduced speed and proceed with caution, on approaching the work zone.
