A BODY has been found in a white Izuzu van that was pulled out of the waters near the twin towers in Port-of-Spain on Saturday.
The body is suspected to be that of port police officer Devon Lewis who went missing early Friday morning.
It stated that there was an incident involving one of the Port Police officers who was rostered on the late shift (11 pm to 7 am) on Thursday.
The authority stated, “At approximately 1.30 am on Friday 25th February, 2022 two officers left the Authority’s compound in vehicle # TDT 2154, and went to a Quik Shoppe facility in Port of Spain. One officer went into the Quik Shoppe and upon his return, neither the other officer nor the vehicle could be located.
“Following investigations led by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and, with the assistance of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard, the vehicle was recovered along with a body at Caricom Wharves. At this time the Board and Management wish to extend condolences to the family and friends of the bereaved.”
