A high winds alert which was issued for Wednesday into Thursday has been discontinued.
In an update on Thursday, the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) stated the “Wind strength has decreased considerably however occasional breezy periods are still expected but this should pose no threat.
“Sea conditions are improving gradually so persons with marine interests are still advised to exercise caution as wind waves may occasionally be above 2.5 metres.”
However, all marine interests should also exercise extreme caution during this period and continue to monitor sea conditions, and exercise caution, the Met Office stated.
The public is asked to continue to monitor the TTMS via official channels for the latest updates.
