NATIONAL award recipients for 2020 and 2021 will finally be able to receive their awards in March.
The ceremony, usually held on August 31 since Independence in 1962, was moved to Republic Day on September 24. They have not taken place in the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a press release on Monday, the Office of the President stated that the lists of national awardees were received on January 12.
President Paula-Mae Weekes has fixed the dates of March 7 for the 2020 Awards and March 9 for the 2021 Awards.
Both ceremonies will be held at the President’s House in Port-of-Spain at 5 pm on both dates.
The events will be conducted in strict adherence with the public health regulations, the President’s Office stated.
