REPAIR works on the cable barriers located along the Solomon Hochoy Highway are expected to be undertaken from Tuesday.
The Ministry of Works and Transport in a press release on Friday stated that there will be a temporary traffic disruption along the north-bound land of the highway from the Gasparillo Flyover to Claxton Bay Flyover.
Work is expected to be completed by Friday and the hours of work would be from 9 am to 3 pm. “Traffic during this period would be limited to a single lane within a section of the work zone,” the ministry stated.
Motorists are being advised to proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and barriers, comply with instructions from police officers or flag persons on-site, to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic, be aware of equipment in the work zone and entering and exiting the site and to drive at a reduced speed and proceed with caution, on approaching the work zone.
The Ministry of Works and Transport apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked the public for its co-operation.
Last December, the ministry issued a similar press release stating that repair work to the cable barriers was expected to commence on December 13, 2021 and end on December, 17 2021. However, no repairs were done during that period.
