MORE than 3,000 persons in the country have died a Covid-19 related death since March 2020, with 18 more people being reported to have died on Friday.
The Ministry of Health in its latest update (#962) also reported 974 new positive cases the highest daily number for the year to date.
Additionally, active positive cases crossed 16,000.
It also reported that 85,928 boosters have been administered while 48.1% of the population of Trinidad and Tobago is fully vaccinated.

Patients in the parallel healthcare system who were not fully vaccinated were 9,607 or 86%, while 1,570 or 14% were fully vaccinated based on data from July 22, 2021 to December 22, 2021.

January 2: 31 deaths, 458 cases;
January 3: 22 deaths, 338 cases;
January 4: 15 deaths, 637 cases;
January 5: 22 deaths, 579 cases;
January 6: 19 deaths, 883 cases;
January 7: 18 deaths, 974 cases
