DIGITAL vaccine verification was postponed for more features, especially to accommodate children with no IDs to participate in activities.
This according to the Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young at a press conference on Saturday at the Diplomatic Centre in St Ann’s.
Young said, “We decided on the photograph on the certificate, as there were instances of children between the ages of fully vaccinated 12 to 18, who had no formal ID but wanted to go to cinemas”
He also stated, “Upon assessment, there were additional features that we wanted to add to it.
Young said, “We envisioned that persons will go to the website which was likely to be the TTBizlink with a portal. However, prior to going onto the website, you will need to have your vaccine card, the dates of vaccination and the form of ID used for the vaccination.”
At this stage, he stated the necessary information would be imputed on the form TTBizLink portal.
He said, “Information such as your name, address, date of birth, dates of vaccination and the form of ID used and a JPEG image of yourself similar to the visa application which would be uploaded, and this was when the verification would take place.”
Young said once the information was imputed, persons would receive within 24 hours or less a vaccine certificate with a QR code.
A system was added for the verification certificates to enable anyone to access it without internet connectivity, he said.
Young said, “It was also free with an app on both Google and Apple platforms where you can scan the QR code.”
He said, “Businesses and government offices will soon be able to have the apps on devices to scan codes on the digital certificate which would provide a verification of the individual.”
