BEACHES in Trinidad and Tobago will open from 5 am to 12 noon.
This was announced by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley at a press conference at the Diplomatic Centre in St Ann’s on Saturday.
The prime minister said the new measure should take place from Monday and does not apply to rivers and ponds, only to beaches.
He said there will be no consumption of alcohol, no loud music and no partying on the nation’s public beaches.
Dr Rowley said, “When you are not in the water you wear your mask and you do not congregate.”
He said if this works well then the hours on beaches will be expanded.
