ON Tuesday night, a technician from Penal was gunned down.
Police reports are that around 11.20 pm, police responded to a report of a shooting at a house at Mathura Avenue in Penal where 39-year-old Karl Callender was shot.
Callender from Charlo Village was shot in the neck.
Police stated that they were informed that Callender was visiting a friend at the house and asked to take a shower.
A short while after, a man wearing dark-coloured clothing and a black ski mask armed with a firearm, entered the house through an open door.
The informant told officers he became afraid and escaped through a window and moments later, he heard gunshots.
Callendar’s body was found by police unresponsive and slumped on a wall.
He was wearing long khaki pants, with a gunshot wound to the right side of the neck.
Officers of the Homicide Region III, crime scene investigators and Penal CID responded.
CSI officers retrieved 16 spent nine-millimetre calibre casings, one live round of nine-millimetre ammunition and a black cellphone from the crime scene.
