AS of midnight tonight (Wednesday), the State of Emergency (SoE) and the curfew, currently in place from 10 pm to 5 am, will end.
It means that the curfew will be in effect from 10 pm but will end at midnight.
The motion to dissolve the SoE was approved following the voting in the Lower House on Wednesday when 20 Government members voted for and 14 Opposition members abstained. No member voted against it.
The SoE was implemented on May 15.
On Wednesday in the Lower House, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley wound up his motion to have the proclamation declaring the SoE revoked in Parliament.
Dr Rowley said the removal of the curfew and SoE was not as the Opposition is claiming for the People’s National Movement to campaign for the Tobago House of Assembly elections on December 6.
He said nobody campaigned in the night.
