THA Election Candidates file Nomination Papers

THE nomination process is on for candidates contesting in the upcoming Tobago House of Assembly (THA) elections.

On Monday, the potential candidates for both the major contesting parties the People’s National Movement (PNM) and the Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP) filed their nomination papers at various locations on the island.

The Innovative Democratic Alliance (IDA) is also contesting the election offering up candidates for 12 of the 15 seats.

The papers were filed at four facilities, the Pembroke Multipurpose Facility, Tam Building, Glen Road, Lambeau Multipurpose Facility and Calder Hall Multipurpose Facility.

Filing their papers for the PNM were PNM Tobago Political Leader Tracy Davidson Celestine, THA’s Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis, Kenneth Thomas, Franka Cordner, Nadine Stewart-Phillips, Charles Adams, Kelvon Morris, Laurence Hislop, Brian Thomas, Joel Jack, Marslyn Melville Jack, Kino McKenzie,  Clarence Jacob Learie Paul and Downie Marcelle.

Filing for the PDP were PDP’s leader Watson Duke, deputy leader Farley Augustine, Nathisha Charles-Pantin, Dr Faith Yisrael, Terance Baynes, Zorisha Hackett, Joel Sampson, Sonny Craig, Abby Taylor, Wane Clarke, Ian Pollard, Megan Morrison, Niall George,Trevor James and Nigel Taitt.

IDA’s political leader Denise Tsoiafatt-Angus, Keon Clarke, Adonnii Jacob, Marlon Brizan, Kaye Trotman, Leroy George, Keach Gibbs, Avernell Manswell, Stacy Herbert, Aldrin Phillips, Kemisha Kerr and Elon Berkley were also expected to file their papers.

The THA election is to be held on December 6.
