OCTOBER 4 Budget day.
At the first sitting of the Second Session of Parliament on Friday, Finance Minister Colm Imbert made the announcement.
The national budget is expected to be delivered at 1.30 pm by Imbert.
Imbert announced, “I have the honour to advise that Budget 2022 will be read in this House on Monday October 4 at 1.30pm.”
October 4 is also the date set for in-person classes to begin for vaccinated pupils in Forms Four, Five and Six secondary school levels.
At the short Parliamentary session that lasted just under 20 minutes, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley also tabled the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) Tobago Order, which will make way for the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) election, the second to be held this year following the tie in January.
Government is seeking to have 15 electoral seats in Tobago instead of 12.
And National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds also laid the Use of Pepper Spray Order which stipulates the type and strength of pepper spray and the volumetric content permitted in a canister.
