THE Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) closes its mass vaccination site at Centre Pointe Mall, Chaguanas after vaccinating more than 50,000 persons.
Operations were discontinued at that location from Friday.
SATT ‘s operations will now joing with SEWATT at the NCIC Nagar site at Endeavor Chaguanas.
In a statement on its Facebook page, SATT stated, “So many have passed through the doors at Centrum Auditorium at Centre Pointe Mall. From the members of the supermarket industry to Food and Beverage to supply and distribution to farmers and market vendors, we have shown equity in the administration of the vaccine to all who have been willing to receive it.”
SATT begun its vaccinations more than two months ago and has pioneered the private sector vaccination drive with the vaccines being provided by the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health, Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society , Trinidad and Tobago Medical Association, The Price Club Supermarket, Diabetes Association Trinidad & Tobago Trinidad, the Tobago Fire Service, Trinidad and Tobago Police Service led by SATT all contributed to the success at the first mass vaccination site of its kind.
SATT stated, “Now that you have the opportunity freely available to receive a vaccine at any one of the health centres nationwide, at drive through mass vaccination sites as well as other mass sites, we feel it is time to bow out while taking immense pride in the fact that well over 50,000 persons received their jab at SATT site at CPM!”
And SATT again appealed to the public to adhere to all Covid-19 protocols and to get vaccinated so that the country can return to the time before the virus hit.
