MINISTER in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young is calling on all businesses to not try to tweak the public health regulations to suit them.
At a post-Cabinet press conference on Thursday, Young said, “ A spade is a spade, a duck is a duck, a rabbit is a rabbit. If you’re a rabbit and you feel that by putting a duck feather on your back , you become a duck, you’re going to get yourself in trouble.”
Young was responded to questions asked concerning El Pecos Grill and Restaurant on Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook.
The restaurant posted on its Facebook page that it was re-opening with “market essentials on the go.” It will be operating under El Pecos on the Go Market Limited.
“What’s this???? Avenue only! Open until 4pm today! If you can’t make it today we will be OPEN 9am-5pm tomorrow (and perhaps daily after that). It’s all coming together!” the restaurant stated.
Young said, “If you know you are a restaurant and selling food as a restaurant for all this time and in particular a take-out restaurant , don’t just go and put some .. I couldn’t make out what it is.. and call yourself a market.”
The minister said while Government understood the financial strain of persons whose businesses are currently closed, the economy needed to be restarted in a safe environment.
