TAXIS can now operate with 75% capacity.
This was revealed in the new Public Health Regulations issued by Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh on Tuesday.
The Public health [2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)] (No. 17) Regulations, 2021 also increased the passengers in maxi taxis.
The new changes come after a protest by some taxi drivers on Tuesday that the previous 50% capacity was not economically viable for them.
The new regulations are in effect from June 29 to July 18. They were previously expected to end on July 4.
