THE People’s National Movement (PNM) is calling on Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar to stop heavily criticising the Government for every move it makes as it relates to Covid-19 and calls on her to join in the national fight against the virus.
In a press release issue on Thursday, PNM Fyzabad constituency said, “ Enough is enough.”
The party group led by Chris Encinas stated, “While there is no salve that can bring instant relief to our citizenry and we acknowledge that we are facing difficult times, we expect everyone to rally around our government and to support the national effort to assist the country through this storm.”
Encinas wrote, “The government is doing its part, the medical team is doing yeoman’s service for which they must be congratulated and saluted and for the most part citizens are doing their part. But a vaccuum has been created by the Opposition led by Ms Bissessar, emptiness, no rallying, no clarion calls on citizens to behave responsibly, nothing except the vacuous diatribe that occurs weekly at the forums.”
And he also called on Persad-Bissessar to apologise for 1990 coup reference adding that now was not the time for “slack and inciteful rhetoric.”
